Nichols Environmental considers the safety and well-being of our employees a core value of the company. Workplace hazard assessments and controls are included in every project.

As a commitment to Health and Safety, Nichols Environmental undertook an extensive safety evaluation to achieve a Certificate of Recognition from Alberta Labour (Certificate No. 20050225-9807) in 2001. Nichols Environmental staff continually upgrade their safety training, which includes:

  • TDG
  • WHMIS
  • First Aid
  • Ground Disturbance (Level II)
  • Defensive driving and
  • Fire safety.

Key personnel working in the upstream oil and gas industry also receive:

  • H2S Alive
  • Confined space entry and rescue and
  • OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER

Nichols Environmental employees will work in a cooperative spirit with all clients and subcontractors to ensure the safety of all worksite personnel. All Nichols Environmental employees and subcontractors must complete a hazard assessment prior to commencing any site project work.

Our safety objective for every project is to complete the work using safe procedures and behaviors, resulting in zero injuries or near-miss incidents. Through our commitment of all staff and management our incident rate is ZERO, with no lost time incidents or injuries for the last five years.
